I've been busy working on my first shadow box. I wanted to show you the process that I've gone through so far. I have so many images collected, that I just start looking through my files. I was attracted to these images from a magazine of these girls and used photos of my own from a local garden to start my process.
These are some images I've collected from magazines and photos printed of my pics of garden flowers.
I'm playing with the images to come to some arrangement. I've created a photo montage for the large girl's clothes from my own pics of flowers.
I've made a temporary cardboard box to work in before attaching everything in the wooden shadow box. I've decided this girl is to go in front. It's like she's escaping into the rose bloom.
I've added two midground images behind the first image. These are work-in-progress, as they are just printed on ordinary paper and I'm still working with the colour saturation and brightness.
I've added a background on the left hand side. I am still deciding what background to place on the right hand side. In the final set-up, I will be printing all images on acid free card and paper.
I bought a wooden shadow box from Michael's (craft store) and I am making it deeper by adding wooden pieces and then a panel to cover the two different wooden sides.
